<内容の要約>
Social work has its origins in the practice of Richmond and Adams, and since then, many of the major theories have been developed in the U.S and the Europe. Therefore, much of the literature on social workers' skills and the theories that support their skills are translations of those published foreign texts. When learning about social work, the ability to read the original text rather than translated Japanese texts makes a big difference in the deep understanding of social work. In this course, the first objective is to familiarize students with English texts by reading them and giving thoughts on human happiness and its connection to the society. Based on the reading, we will discuss the values and concepts of social work in relation to the references. Working language will be English and Japanese.
