To become able to identify the needs and/or problems of their surrounding environment.
To become able to research and learn about social innovation concepts.
To become able to find meaning in presentations and their power to change society.
To become able to enjoy working in new original presentations.
To become able to make powerful, clear and inspiring presentations.

授業のながれ
Surroundings in and out of campus life. Design a line with words/images that express observations.
Find and create new ways for talking in public. Develop story telling and improvisation.
Create a “Question Bank” for surveys. Choose themes.
Launch a survey for the three departments at campus. Share results.
Watch a presentation by a Japanese ESL student about local issues. Discuss.
Watch a presentation by an English native speaker on global issues. Discuss..
Analyze the structure of these presentations, their commonalities and differences.
Discuss and do collaborative writing for conclusions. Present conclusions.
Watch and discuss “Slow down, find humanity”.
Research about local issues that need solution and/or solutions already implemented.
Work on “Problem Space” (a set of goals for a creative process).
Decision making/ Research/Write.
Write script /Make Power Point.
Correct/ Reading practice for pronunciation and patterns of stress and intonation.
Final Presentation.

準備学習の内容・学ぶ上での注意
Students will participate in class both in groups and individually. They are expected to talk in a clear and direct manner.
Answer questions about their presentations.
Listen to their classmates, make comments and ask questions.
Cell phones can be used as a tool for voice recording and taking videos.
We will visit the library, use personal computers or laptops for research.

Students will be graded on their participation in class .Their performance on short speeches and the final presentations at the end of each semester. 70% (assignments and presentation design) 30% (final presentation)
