There will be a focus on the mechanics of speech giving, i.e., eye contact, body language and using their voice to communicate. Students will learn how to create an efficient and useful powerpoint presentation to support their presentatiosn. Students will be expected to do research and be able to talk about data related to their topic. They will develop confidence through consistent practice. <学習目標> To develop good speaking habits, such as good eye contact, gestures, effective body language and voice inflection to communicate. To be able to use powerpoint to effectively to support a presentation. To be able to speak on a variety of themes that students are interested in. 準備学習の内容・学ぶ上での注意 |

Students will be reconstructing what they know about giving speeches and working on basic skills for overall improved public speaking ability. A great deal of emphasis will be put on participation and improvement through the semester. Attendance is important to ensure that you can complete all assignments and be responsible to team members when doing pair or group presentations. Students should prepare the textbook and bring to class. Please note: No class on 4/8. A make-up class will be rescheduled on June 4th Saturday.
