科目のねらい

＜内容の要約＞ 【キーワード】　1. English communication, 2. listening, 3. reading, 4. speaking 　 　現代社会における様々な問題に対して、 英語によるコミュニケーション・ディベート的なアプローチを活用しながら、 自分の意見を形成し、 相手と意見交換ができることを最終目標とする。 コミュニケーション・ディベート的アプローチとは、 問題の争点を賛成反対の両面から把握し、 問題の原因を探り、 合理的な解決策を選択していくことである。 　授業では、 この最終目標のための基礎編と位置づけ、 まず対象となる問題についての英文やデータを読んだり、 聞いたりしながら、 問題点を把握する訓練をくりかえし行う。 その際に 「自分だったらどう考えるか」 ということを常に意識して課題に取り組んでもらう。 トピックは身近な問題から時事性の高いものまで幅広くあつかう予定である。
