講義のテーマ・概要・ねらい
These course aim to provide students with opportunities to practice the Engish language skills necessary for simple social interaction in an intercultural and international context.
1) Students will learn to do the following.
 Ask for and provide information/ Make, accept and refuse offers
 Ask for and give advice/ Ask for and give directions
 Ask for and give permission/ Ask for and give opinions
2) Students will be required to develop conversations on a wide range of subjects, beginning with simple personal topics.
 Self and family/ Home, house and hometown
 Sport, leisure and hobbies/ Clothes and shopping
 Holidays and travel/ School and university life
 Entertainment and music/ Food and drink/ People and relationships
3) There will be systematic review of English grammar through practice activities. Much of the students will be urged to participate fully and help each other.
- Cassettes may sometimes be used in class, with model dialogues and conversations (for listening, repetition, and dictation), and there may also be home-listening activities.
- Other activities such as mini role-plays, language games and puzzle-solving activities may also be used to enhance production of language.
