History

1953 Chubu Junior College of Social Work established.
1957 Chubu Junior College of Social Work changes its name to Nihon Fukushi University (NFU).
Nihon Fukushi University (NFU) established
1958 NFU-affiliated Tachibana High School inaugurated.
1961 NFU Women’s Junior College, Department of Early Childhood Education established.
1969 Master’s program established at the NFU Graduate School of Social Welfare.
1976 Faculty of Economics established.
1980 Tachibana High School changes its name to NFU Affiliated High School.
1983 NFU and affiliated institutes relocate to Mihama, Chita District.
1989 NFU Chuo College of Social Services inaugurated.
1995 Faculty of Social and Information Sciences established in the city of Handa.
1996 NFU Women’s Junior College discontinued.
NFU Takahama College of Human Services inaugurated in the city of Takahama.
NFU Chuo College of Comprehensive Social Services changes its name to NFU Chuo College of Social Services.
2001 NFU Correspondence Education established.
2002 International Social Development Master’s Program (Correspondence Course) established at NFU Graduate School.
2007 Social Well-Being and Development doctorate program established at NFU Graduate School.
2008 Faculty of Health Science established.
Faculty of Child Development established.
Faculty of International Welfare Development established.
2009 Health and Social Services Management (Master's Degree Program), Graduate School of Health and Social Services Management established.
2010 NFU Takahama College of Human Services discontinued.
2013 NFU celebrates its 60th anniversary.
2015 Tokai Campus inaugurated.
Faculty of Nursing established.
2017 Faculty of Sports Science, Department of Sport Science newly established.
