1953 Chubu Junior College of Social Work established.
Institute of Social Sciences established (present-day Department of Social Welfare).
1954 Faculty of Social Welfare adds second program (evening program).
1955 Social welfare major established.
1957 Chubu Junior College of Social Work changes its name to Nihon Fukushi University (NFU).
1958 NFU-affiliated Tachibana High School inaugurated.
1961 NFU Women’s Junior College, Department of Early Childhood Education established.
1964 NFU Women’s Junior College, Department of Domestic Sciences established.
1969 Master’s program established at the NFU Graduate School of Social Welfare.
1973 NFU Women’s Junior College, Department of Domestic Sciences discontinued.
1976 Faculty of Economics established.
1980 Tachibana High School changes its name to NFU Affiliated High School.
1983 NFU and affiliated institutes relocate to Mihama, Chita District.
